AmplifiHer

AmplifiHer is a project that creates space for women in music to collaborate across generations, genres and geographies.

AmplifiHer is a 10-day residency for women creatives in the musical field to come together and collaborate on an original piece of music. Artists can apply with a plan to explore the musical genre of their interest, the places they want to visit, and the other women musicians they want to collaborate with. AmplifiHer artists have full control over their process from start to finish.  As Echoes in the Valley upholds the importance of preserving and working with folk and indigenous music and artists, collaborations with this genre is encouraged.

For the first episode of AmplifiHer, we present to you Songs from the Rapti, a musical piece created collaboratively by Basanti Chaudhary and Nirmala Chaudhary from Lamahi, Dang; and Simma Rai and Heyshe Sherpa from Kathmandu; and captured in film by cinematographer Shristi Budha Magar.

This episode was made possible with support from The British Council Nepal
