WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
The basics of digital audio workstations (DAWs)
Introduction to music production tools and techniques
Sound design, mixing, and arrangement fundamentals
Hands-on practice to create your first track
PRE-REQUISITES
A personal computer with enough RAM to operate a DAW software
Basic production gears (if possible) i,e. Audio Interface, Headphones, Microphone, etc.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Rajan Shrestha is a Kathmandu-based interdisciplinary artist, primarily known for his work in music. He's a bassist/co-producer for the Kathmandu-based post-rock band Jindabaad and holds an Ethnomusicology degree from Kathmandu University's Department of Music. He produces music as 'phatcowlee' and collaborates with Pakistani electronic musician Alien Panda Jury in the project Anaasir. As a founding member of Fuzzscape, a cultural documentation platform, he focuses on music, archival, and storytelling through audio-visual media. Shrestha is the executive director at Nepal Music Archive and works with podcasts like BojuBajai and Utarchadhav.

PAST PROJECT
Songs of Rapti
During a 10-day residency, musicians Simma Rai and Heyshe Dolma Sherpa collaborated with folk artists Basanti Chaudhary and Nirmala Chaudhary from Lamahi, Dang. Together, they exchanged their musical journeys, drew inspiration from the places they visited, and, through their exchange, they proudly present Songs of Rapti.
